Sharpen your Edge
“If an iron axhead is blunt and a workman does not sharpen its edge, he must exert a great deal of effort; so wisdom has the advantage of giving success.” (Ecclesiastes 10:10 NET)
When we don’t seek God for wisdom and counsel, we are like a foolish workman who tries to chop wood with a blunt axe.
When one relies on the flesh, the only way he knows is to work harder. This is like choosing to use a blunt axe and put in strenuous effort.
By the end of the day, you will be burnt out, and drained in all areas.
Be wise-hearted by always seeking God’s wisdom and counsel first whenever you face a challenge.
When you supernaturally receive knowledge from God, you will have a sharp axe edge that cuts precisely.
Using His omniscience, God can show you the right time and best way to achieve a certain result.
Instead of wasting time doing trial and error to get suboptimal results, seek God first and receive the wisdom to get it right the first time round!
“for the king’s word is supreme. Who can say to him, “What are you doing?” Whoever keeps the commandment shall not come to harm, and his wise heart will know the time and procedure. For there is a time and procedure for every purpose, although the misery of man is heavy on him. For he doesn’t know that which will be; for who can tell him how it will be?” (Ecclesiastes 8:4-7 WEB)
